teal colour textured crochet beanie with pompom

The Design:

Like the other crochet beanies in this collection, the Mountain Ridge Beanie is worked from the bottom up.  The body of the hat is worked in front and back post double crochet stitches which are worked in a way that creates a spiral effect.

You may work this beanie in one or more colours.  The pompom at the top is also optional.  The hat looks wonderful with a pompom or without!

The Materials:

For my hat today I have used the Wool Ease yarn by Lion Brand Yarn.  It is a wool blended yarn that is medium/worsted weight.  You are welcome to switch the yarn for another worsted weight, just be sure to check your gauge as it will affect the outcome of the size of your hat.

Along with the yarn, I will be using a 5 mm crochet hook.  You will see me working with a Wooden Streamline hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet in the video tutorial below.

  1. Row 16 I’m stuck on because after the fpdc2tog I’m doing a bpdc and then fpdc into 2 front stitches from before. It doesn’t look right.
