Crochet keychains, like this Elizabeth Keychain crochet pattern, are a great little project that you can make quickly on the go!

The crochet Elizabeth stitch is one of my favourite crochet stitch patterns. I have worked several crochet hats, scarves and blankets using the pattern. It features diagonally placed mini bean stitches that create a great texture and thickness. I love that the stitch is not too dense!

The Elizabeth stitch makes for a very pretty wristlet keychain!

This Elizabeth Keychain crochet pattern is very quick to make. You can complete it in under an hour. It’s a great practical crochet item for yourself or as a gift to another. Because you can work them up quickly and with a small amount of yarn, they also make a great item for selling at craft fairs and sales.

This keychain strap is worked in rows along the long edge. Once the piece is finished, you will fold it over so that the two short ends meet. At the ends you will crochet through both thicknesses and around the keychain ring or lobster lock clasp. In the photos I use both a 35mm and 48mm clasp.

The Materials:

For this keychain today, I will be using a small amount of Comfy Worsted Weight Cotton by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. It is a cotton and acrylic blended yarn that comes in a variety of colours. Although the yarn is classified as a worsted or medium weight, I do find it a little on the lighter side so be aware that if you decide to substitute this yarn for another, the keychain may turn out larger. You may wish to try a smaller crochet hook than I have used to make it smaller again. Along with my worsted weight yarn, I will also be working with a 4 mm (G/6) crochet hook.
