The Classic Crochet V Stitch is a stitch pattern that every crocheter should have in their bucket list to master!
It’s such a great stitch! The Classic V Stitch is easy to work as a one row repeat. It’s worked using basic crochet stitches and it is going to work up very quickly.
It’s a light weight lacy stitch that can be worked in any yarn weight and fibre. It can be worked in one colour or many. It is so versatile!
I have used this stitch patterns in a variety of projects including blankets, market bags, scarves, shawls and more.

The Materials:
For this tutorial today, I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. You are also able to work this stitch in a single colour or more. The Heatherly yarn is a medium/worsted weight yarn that is a wool blend. Along with my worsted weight yarn, I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook.

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
The turning ch does not count as a stitch.
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch pattern, you will need a foundation chain with a multiple of 3 stitches, plus 4.
For example, ch 34.
Row One:
[Dc, ch 1, dc] into the 5th ch from your hook, *sk the next 2 chs, [dc, ch 1, dc] in the next st; Rpt from * across until 2 sts remain, sk the next st, dc in the final st. Ch 3 (counts as a dc), turn.
Row Two:
*[Dc, ch 1, dc] in the next ch-1 sp; Rpt from * across ending with a dc in the top of your turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern simply repeat row two. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
