The Design:

The Winterberry scarf is deigned to complement the Winterberry Beanie pattern which means that it uses the same crochet stitch: the Suzette Stitch.  The result is a beautiful texture! The scarf features several blocks of colour – I alternate between two different ones.

Also, while I do not have a fringe on my scarf, it is optional for this pattern.

The Materials:

For this scarf, I use about 600 yards of a worsted weight yarn.  Shown above, I have worked the scarf in Wool Ease, which is a medium weight wool blend yarn by Lion Brand Yarn.  You may need more if you decide to add a fringe.

Along with the yarn, I have also used a 5 mm crochet hook.  In the full video tutorial below you will see me using a Wooden Streamline Hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet.

  1. What multiple would I use to add to the width or is it just an even number?
