I love the colour pattern in this Tile Brick Stitch crochet pattern as it really stands out, especially when worked in dark and light coloured yarns!

I have seen this stitch pattern several times in passing in both blankets and hats but, until now, had yet to try it.  I loved the results and can definitely see myself incorporating it into a project.

I have called the stitch pattern the “Tile Brick Stitch” as I wanted to distinguish it from the other “Brick Stitch” that I have on my Youtube channel.  I have seen it called the “Almond Tile Stitch” but most commonly it is called the “Brick Stitch.”

The stitch is fairly easy to work, although it does require a bit of stitch counting, especially until you get used to the pattern in the stitches.

The crochet tile brick stitch worked in blue and grey yarn

The Materials:

For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of Pima Cotton Yarn by Lion Brand Yarn in one colour. It is a worsted weight, 100% cotton yarn. The hook shown in the video below is a 5 mm interchangeable hook by Bowltech Crochet hooks.  Another favourite hook is this 5 mm birchwood crochet hook by Rowan Yarns.  However you may use any hook and yarn combination you choose, even experiment with stripes of colour.

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy the tutorial below, be sure to also check out some of the many other crochet stitch tutorials on my site, such as the Circle Stitch | How to Crochet and pin this one for later!
