The Seize the Day Crochet Throw is a beautifully textured crochet throw blanket that almost looks as though it is woven.

The woven texture is created by working long double crochet stitches over top of the rows worked below.  This pattern is sometimes referred to as the faux weaving stitch.  It’s so much fun!

The Seize the day Throw can be worked in as many colours as you would like.  For my blanket today, I worked it in four different colours.  One of the colours (the off white) is continued throughout the entire blanket.

The blanket is finished off by working a simple, subtly textured edging worked in the main colour.  The long double crochet stitches allow this throw ton have lots of drape, but also be thick and warm.

The Materials:

For this blanket I have used a 100% acrylic yarn called Caron One Pound.  Each ball of yarn has about 800 yards.  You will need two balls of colour A and one ball each of colours B, C and D.  Along with your yarn you will need a 6 mm crochet hook.  In the video tutorial below I will be using a Clover Armour Crochet Hook.
