The Baby V Crochet Stitch Pattern is simple, but beautiful. It has a similar appearance on both sides making it a wonderful choice for blankets and other reversible projects!

The Baby V crochet stitch pattern is pretty! It’s a simple construction with a two-row repeat. It’s primarily made using single and half double crochet stitches. It has an easy rhythm to it which makes it a pleasure to work.

The Materials:

For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. It is a worsted-weight yarn. You could also work this pattern in two or more colours. I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook. However, you may use any hook and yarn combination you choose.

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy the tutorial below, be sure to also check out some of the many other crochet stitch tutorials on my site and pin this for later! You may wish to start with the beautiful, textured Rolling Wave Stitch Crochet Pattern.

Pattern Notes:

This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.

This pattern is written in American crochet terms.

To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need an odd number of chain stitches for your foundation chain.

For example, ch 31.

Row One:

Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook, sc in each st across, ch 1, turn.

Row Two:

Hdc in the 1st st, sk the next st, *2 hdc in the next st, sk the next stitch; Rpt from * across, hdc in the final st, ch 1, turn.

Row Three:

Sc in the 1st st, [sc, ch 1, sc] in the sp between the next 2 sts, *sk the next 2 hdc, [sc, ch 1, sc] in the sp between the next 2 hdc sts; Rpt from * across, sc in the top of the final st.  Ch 1, turn.

Row Four:

Hdc in the 1st st, *2 hdc in the next ch-1 sp; Rpt from * across, hdc in the final st.  Ch 1, turn.

And that’s it!

For the rest of the pattern, simply repeat rows three and four. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
