The Rolling Wave Stitch crochet pattern is an adaptation of the highly textured Honeycomb Waffle Stitch I posted a couple of weeks ago.
So if you enjoyed the Honeycomb Waffle stitch, you will enjoy this one!
The Rolling Wave Stitch features (as the name would suggest) rows of smooth waves that run across the top of the fabric. It is a little easier than the Honeycomb Waffle stitch with a little bit more of a lighter texture.
This is a great stitch for those looking for a solid stitch pattern for a larger afghan or small baby blanket, maybe even a cardigan!

The Materials:
For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. It is a worsted-weight yarn. You could also work this pattern in two or more colours. I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook. In the video tutorial below, you will see me working with a Birchwood Crochet Hook by Rowan. However, you may use any hook and yarn combination you choose.
Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy the tutorial below, be sure to also check out some of the many other crochet stitch tutorials on my site and pin this for later! You may wish to start with the beautiful Keepsake Stitch Crochet Pattern.

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need a multiple 6 chain stitches for your foundation chain.
For example, ch 30.
Row One:
Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each st across. Ch 2, turn.
Row Two:
Dc in the next st and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Three:
Sc in the 1st st, *turn your work so that the right side of your work is facing, work 2 sc along the post of the next st working from the top of the st to the bottom, turn your work clockwise, sk the next dc, work 2 sc along the post of the next st working from the bottom of the st to the top, turn your work once again so that it is right side up, sc in the top of each of the next 3 sts; Rpt from * across. Ch 1, turn.
Row Four:
Sc in the 1st st, *bpsc in each of the next 3 sc, sc in each of the next 3 sts 2 rows below; Rpt from * across to the final st, sc in the final st. Ch 1, turn.
Row Five:
Sc in the 1st st and in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
