The Click Clack Crochet Stitch pattern has a beautiful, tweed texture and really works best when it is worked in rounds!

In fact, I have not been able to find the pattern worked in rows as of yet, but I have been fiddling with it and will see what I can come up with!

Until then, this beautiful crochet stitch pattern would look wonderful when worked in something like a sweater, cowl or pair of socks! If simply trying the stitch out and you want to try something simple and small, you may wish to try for cup cozy!

I love the look of the Click Clack Crochet Stitch. It reminds me of a cozy tweed sweater or vest. It features dainty little textured stitches that are worked in a unique way. All of the texture is set to one side and worked in single crochet stitches. It’s the placement of those stitches that creates this unique texture. You will see in the pattern and video tutorial below.

Materials for this Tutorial:

For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of cotton yarn. This yarn is a worsted weight yarn called Pima Cotton by Lion Brand Yarn. I will also be using a 5 mm crochet hook. The hook you will see me using in the video tutorial below is a Clover Soft Touch Hook.

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy learning new crochet stitches, you will find many more in the “Crochet Stitches” category here on Rich Textures Crochet such as this Boxed Bead Stitch, or you may wish to check out the Wide Cone Stitch. I update this website with a new crochet stitch every week!

Click Clack Crochet Stitch:

Stitches and Abbreviations:

Ch – Chain Stitch

Psc – Post Single Crochet (A single crochet stitch worked through the middle of the post of the stitch below working under the to vertical bars at the front of the post)

Rpt – Repeat

Sc – Single Crochet

Sk – Skip

Sl St – Slip Stitch

Yo – Yarn Over

Notes:

This stitch is worked in rounds in this tutorial. You may work it in one colour or many. I will be working the stitch in a solid colour.

To begin, make a slip knot and then a foundation chain. For your foundation chain you will need an even number of stitches for your foundation chain.

For example, ch 22 and then join with a slip stitch into the first chain to make a loop.

Round One:

Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining and in each st around. Join with a sl st in the 1st st. Do not turn.

Round Two:

Ch 1, sc in the 1st st, *psc (see “Stitches and Abbreviations”) in the next st, sc in the next st; Rpt from * all the way around, join with a sl st in the 1st st.

Round Three:

Ch 1, psc in the 1st st, *sc in the next st, psc in the next st; Rpt from * all the way around, join with a sl st in the 1st st.

And that’s it!

For the rest of the pattern simply repeat rounds two and three. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
