Welcome to the final crochet pattern in the 2026 Wonderful Hats Crochet Along! Today we will learn how to crochet the beautiful Emery Cowl crochet pattern to go with your Emery Beanie.

I love the mesmerizing texture in the Emery Beanie and I am more than excited to carry this into this beautiful matching cowl.

The Wonderful Hats Crochet Along:

Welcome to week four of the Wonderful Hats Crochet Along! If this is your first time hearing about the crochet along, don’t worry! All of the crochet patterns will remain free here on Rich Textures Crochet long after the event has finished.

If you missed the introduction post with all of the details, you can find it here: Introduction to the 2026 Wonderful Hats Crochet Along.

So far we have worked the Jordan Beanie crochet pattern and the Jordan Scarf Crochet Pattern, the Robin Beanie and the Robin Scarf Pattern and the Blake Beanie Crochet Pattern and the Blake Scarf Crochet Pattern.

On Wednesday we were introduced to the Emery Beanie, and today we will work on the matching cowl.

While the other hat patterns in this crochet along were paired with scarves, I decided to go with a cowl for this week. The stitch pattern that’s featured in the cowl grows very slowly and is quite thick so it is a bit of a yarn eater. A cowl or neck warmer was a happy compromise!

The cowl is worked from the bottom up featuring the same texture as the beanie with a double crochet ribbing at the bottom and the top.

I have worked the Emery Cowl Crochet Pattern in two colours, but you could certainly work it in a single colour or more.

How to crochet the Emery Cowl:

For the cowl, you will need about 330 yards of a medium/worsted weight yarn as well as a 5mm (H/8) crochet hook. I will provide the details about the specific yarn I used in the photos down below.
