The Open Weave Blanket crochet pattern is a beautiful crochet blanket that looks as though it has been woven.
It is, though, very much crochet! The Open Weave Blanket is not a heavy crochet blanket. Its open work design makes it light and airy. It also means that you will not need as much yarn for this blanket as you would a more textured blanket.
The Construction:
This crochet blanket is worked as one piece using two different colours of a worsted/medium weight yarn. That being said, it would be interesting to experiment using multiple colours of yarn. I have thought that if I were to make this blanket again, I might try to use a self stripping yarn or yarn cake as my colour B with a darker coordinating colour for my colour A. I believe the self changing colours contrasted with the darker would look amazing! Please let me know if you try it!
