The Open Diamond Crochet Stitch is a beautiful lace crochet pattern.

The design is fairly easy to work with a variety of stitches including double crochet stitches and double crochet two stitches together.  Some of the double crochet stitches are worked over top of the stitch below them and into the space below the stitch which provides a bit of interest and texture in the design.   This design would look wonderful in a shawl or cardigan, but it would also look wonderful in a throw blanket or baby blanket.  I look forward to seeing what you make with it!

A Crochet Lace stitch pattern featuring a diamond design

The Materials:

For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of Pima Cotton Yarn by Lion Brand Yarn in one colour. It is a worsted weight, 100% cotton yarn. The hook shown in the video below is a handmade hook by Bowltech Crochet Hooks.  However you may use any hook and yarn combination you choose, even experiment with stripes of colour!

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy the tutorial below, be sure to also check out some of the many other crochet stitch tutorials on my site, such as the Apple Blossom Stitch | How to Crochet and pin this one for later!
