Today’s Market Bag:

Our On Trend Crochet Market Bag design today features a beautiful, thick textured crochet stitch called the feather stitch. The feather stitch design is broken up by several rounds of half double crochet stitches worked in the third loop.  Compared to the other bags in this years crochet along, this bag is a little bit roomier.  The feather stitches are worked a little more loosely and are almost plush in texture.  As is the case with many puff stitches, the feather stitch is quite fun to work.

The Construction:

Our crochet market bag today is worked in rounds from the bottom up.  It is worked as one piece even into the continuous  handles.  I have worked the bag in a 100% cotton yarn called 24/7 Cotton by Lion Brand in three different colours which you can read about below.  As I find even the worsted/medium weight yarn is on the lighter side, I paired it with a 4 mm crochet hook.

PDF Copies are also Available:

The pattern will be written out in full below and will forever remain free when viewed here on Rich Textures Crochet, and the written instruction will be followed by a video tutorial.  However if you would like to add this pattern to your library or purchase an ad free PDF, you may do so from either my Etsy or Ravelry Shop linked below:

  1. You end your R9-12 of the sides with a hdc in the last stitch, but the video shows a completely different ending to those rows.
