This easy Retro Measuring Tape Cover crochet pattern is a fun way to spruce up one of your most used crochet accessories!

These little retro measuring tape covers are crocheted around the little, often plastic, round retractable measuring tapes that you can find at most craft and dollar stores. On their own these little measuring tapes are fairly plain and boring, but these little measuring tape covers are a great way to spruce them up!

An easy crochet measuring tape cover and accessories

I have crocheted several of these covers and have kept a few for myself, but also have made a few for crafty friends and family for gifts. They would also make a great item to sell at craft sales and fairs.

The Retro Measuring Tape cover is made with a worsted weight 100% cotton yarn in a variety of colours. They are a great way to use up yarn scraps. Depending on what you have on hand you may wish to make it with multiple colours as I have, or as a solid colour. I used small amounts of the Pima Cotton Yarn by Lion Brand along with a 4 mm (G\6) crochet hook.
