The Suzette Bookmark crochet pattern is an elegant but easy crochet pattern that would make a great addition for your next read!
I love crocheting bookmarks! They don’t use up a lot of yarn which makes them excellent yarn scraps users for the lighter weight yarns. They don’t take long to make so I like to make them alongside larger projects. They make great gifts or additions to greeting cards for family and friends. And if you like to sell your crochet handicrafts in your community or at a local market, bookmarks typically sell well, at least in my demographic. There are so many reasons for crocheting bookmarks!
As you can see, this design is simple and features the beautiful texture of the suzette stitch. I love how this stitch pattern creates a solid fabric, but the texture in the pattern makes it look almost lacy as well. The the final point of my bookmark I did add a small tassel, this of course is completely optional!
The Materials:
For this bookmark I used a light weight 100% cotton yarn called Paton’s Grace by Yarnspirations. I have worked many of my bookmarks in this yarn, such as the Crescent bookmark and the Making Waves Bookmark. The cotton has a lovely sheen to it and comes in a variety of colours. You may use any light weight yarn you have on hand.
Along with the yarn, I used a 3.5 mm (E/4) crochet hook. Lately I have been using either the Soft Touch crochet hooks by Clover or a handcrafted Birchwood crochet hook by Rowan Yarns.
