Make a statement this Christmas with the Simply Christmas Stocking! What texture this stocking lacks in the body, it makes up for in the super plush and textured cuff.

I am excited to bring you the Simply Christmas Stocking today.  This is the second of three stocking patterns that I will be releasing this year! The first, which I published a couple of days ago was the Cranberry Christmas Stocking Crochet Pattern.  On Friday I will release a stocking with a more traditional look.  I can’t wait!

I LOVE the texture in the cuff of this crochet stocking.  It is super plush, super shaggy and so much fun!

The Construction:

This Christmas stocking is worked similar to the Cranberry Christmas Stocking: from the toe up and all as one piece.  It is worked in rounds for the most part except for the heel which is worked in short rows.  It’s my favourite way to create a sock heel!  The cuff is worked at the end of the pattern and inside out so that when you are finished, all you need to do is simply turn the cuff down, add a hanger (and make sure that it’s attached securely as this stocking is top heavy!) and find that perfect place to show it off.

The Materials:

For this pattern you are going to need a super bulky weight yarn in two different colours.  In the photos and the video tutorial below I will be using the Wool Ease Thick & Quick by Lion Brand Yarn.

You will also need a 10 mm crochet hook.  In the video below I will be using a wooden hook that was made by my husband.  But if you love wooden hooks as I do, you may wish to check out the Wooden Streamline hooks by Furls Crochet.  They are also a favourite!
