This crochet Cranberry Christmas Stocking will look so cozy hanging in your home! It is made with a super bulky weight yarn adding warmth and texture to your holiday celebrations!

I love the texture in the even moss stitch.  And that is the stitch that creates the texture in the body of this crochet Christmas Stocking.  When this stitch is worked in the super bulky weight yarn is works up fairly quickly and looks extra plush!

A red and white crochet Christmas stocking

The Construction:

This Christmas stocking is worked from the toe up and all as one piece.  It is worked in rounds for the most part except for the heel which is worked in short rows.  It’s my favourite way to create a sock heel!  The cuff is worked at the end of the pattern and inside out so that when you are finished, all you need to do is simply turn the cuff down, add a hanger and find that perfect place to show it off!

The Materials:

For this pattern you are going to need a super bulky weight yarn in two different colours.  In the photos and the video tutorial below I will be using the Wool Ease Thick & Quick by Lion Brand Yarn.

You will also need a 10 mm crochet hook.  In the video below I will be using a wooden hook that was made by my husband.  But if you love wooden hooks as I do, you may wish to check out the Wooden Streamline hooks by Furls Crochet.  They are also a favourite!

  1. Can you tell me if there is an error in this statment; Stocking Heel (worked in rows):
With Colour A: Row 1: Sc in each of the next 2 sts, st st in the next st, turn leaving the remaining sts unworked. I think the error is “st st in the next st”. I think the video state “sl st in the next st”. I love this design, can’t wait to get it started.

Thank you, yes it is an error and should be sl st! It will be corrected, thank you 🙂
