The Misty Cowl is a cozy cowl pattern! It works up quickly and only uses about 250 yards of a bulky weight yarn.

The Misty Cowl was designed to go with my Misty Beanie Crochet Pattern. Haven’t made one yet? You’ll find the free crochet pattern for the beanie here: Misty Beanie Crochet Pattern.

This cowl pattern is worked using a bulky weight yarn. The yarn I have used is the Caron Swirl Cakes by Yarnspirations, but you may substitute for another bulky weight yarn. I use the entire cake (about 250 yards) for the cowl.

About the Pattern:

This cowl is worked in rounds. At the end of each round, you will join with a slip stitch in the first stitch and chain one. You will not need to turn your work at the end of each round.

The pattern features a variety of stitches including half double crochet stitches and front post half double crochet stitches.

Some of the stitches are worked in what is referred to as the “3rd loop.” Not sure where to find the 3rd loop? Be sure to watch the free video tutorial below.

Thanks for sharing your free patterns, much appreciated for new and old crocheters?

  2. My cowl looks way larger than yours and it’s rippling. What did I do wrong?

    1. RichTexturesCrochet says:

It could be that you are adding stitches at some point in the pattern or it could simply be that your tension/yarn is different than what I used

    2. Maybe you accidentally counted your chain1 as a stitch when joining into each round. Not sure if that would make such a difference though.just a thought .

    3. Sorry I know I already gave the suggestion about the ch 1 but I didnt really see that being a huge difference then I thought maybe you hdc at the top of the stitches you worked a front post in instead of alternating.
