The Pumpkin Spice Cowl is a cozy cowl crocheted in a bulky weight yarn. This crochet cowl complements the Pumpkin Spice Beanie!
Last week on my blog I introduced you to the Pumpkin Spice Beanie Crochet pattern. This cowl is worked in the same yarn and features a similar stitch design.

The stitches used in this crochet cowl include half double crochet, single crochet and puff stitches. The puff stitches provide a fun pop of texture.
About the Pumpkin Spice Cowl:
This cowl pattern is worked in the round and there is no need to turn at the end of each round. It is worked from the bottom up and only requires on Caron Swirl cake, or about 250 yards of your favourite bulky weight yarn.

Pumpkin Spice Cowl Crochet Pattern:
Skill Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 6 puff sts x 5 rows = 4 inches
Finished Size: 10 x 15.5 inches laid flat.
Yarn: Caron® Swirl Cakes by Yarnspirations (77% Acrylic, 23% wool; 8 oz, 227 g; Approx. 252 yds, 230 m). Bulky Weight (5). You will need 1 cake. Colour Shown: Gold Fusion.
Hook: Size L/11 (8 mm) Hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
Stitches and Abbreviations:
Ch – Chain
Hdc – Half Double Crochet Stitch
Puff – Puff Stitch ([yo, insert your hook into the stitch indicated, yo and draw up a loop] 4 times. Yo and draw through all loops on hook]
Rpt – Repeat
Sc – Single Crochet
Sk – Skip
Sl St – Slip Stitch
Yo – Yarn Over
Pattern Notes:
- Pattern is written in American English terms.
- Ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as stitch.
- Weave in ends as needed.
Free Crochet Pattern:
Ch 80
Rnd 1: Ch 1, hdc in each st all the way around. Join with a sl st in the first st, do not turn. (80 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, working in the 3rd loop, sc in each st around, join with a sl st in the first st.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, * puff into the next st, ch 1, sk the next ch; rpt from * around, join with a sl st in the first st.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, hdc in the same st as joining, *hdc in the top of the next puff st, hdc in the ch-sp; rpt from * around, join with a sl st in the first st.
Rnds 5 – 22: Repeat rnds 2 to 4 six more times.
Rnd 23: Ch 1, working in the 3rd loop, sc in each st around, join with a sl st in the first st.
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
