Crochet an easy bookmark using a classic crochet stitch for your next read with this Elizabeth Bookmark crochet pattern.

If you have been following me for a bit you will know that, along with crochet, I also love to read! These two pastimes collide in my crochet bookmark patterns which I post regularly here on Rich Textures Crochet

In my bookmarks I love to focus on classic crochet designs and stitches including the chevron design in the Chevron Bookmark and the Suzette stitch in the Suzette Bookmark.

Today we are going to showcase another classic and beloved crochet stitch pattern: the Elizabeth Stitch.

The Elizabeth stitch is a wonderfully textured crochet stitch that can be adapted to a variety of crochet patterns. It is comprised of little cluster stitches that create a textured woven design. It is reversible and looks pretty in the Elizabeth Bookmark crochet pattern.

For this bookmark I used a light weight 100% cotton yarn called Paton’s Grace by Yarnspirations. I have worked many of my bookmarks in this yarn, such as the Crescent bookmark and the Making Waves Bookmark. The cotton has a lovely sheen to it and comes in a variety of colours. You may use any light weight yarn you have on hand.

Along with the yarn, I used a 3.5 mm (E/4) crochet hook. In the video tutorial below I will be using a handcrafted Birchwood crochet hook by Rowan Yarns.
