The Amethyst Beanie crochet pattern is a beautiful crochet beanie that is worked from the brim up using basic crochet stitches such as the single crochet.

Like many of the other crochet beanies that I have worked this past year, such as the Arden Beanie Crochet Pattern, this beanie features a cozy double thick brim that is going to keep you extra warm in the winter months.  I typically work my beanie brims using slip stitches, however you may wish to use a single crochet or half double crochet.

A purple and white crochet beanie

Growing up, amethyst was one of my favourite stones.  I kept several polished pieces of it and loved it for its colour.  The colours that I worked my original Amethyst beanie in and the stitch pattern reminded me of this beautiful stone!

Materials:

For the Amethyst Beanie, I will be working with two different colours of a worsted weight yarn.  In the photos and in the video tutorial I am using the Color Theory Yarn by Lion Brand Yarn.  It is super soft and 100% acrylic.  You will need 2 balls, one for your colour A and one for your colour B.

For this pattern you will also need a 4.5 mm crochet hook.  In the video tutorial below I will be using a Birchwood Hook by Rowan Yarns.

Free Crochet Pattern:

Brim (Worked in rows):

With colour A, ch 26 (For brim that is folded over).

Row 1: Sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.  Ch 1, turn.  (25 sl sts)
