The Country Christmas Ornament is an easy crochet ornament that will add a country feel to your Christmas Tree.

I love the texture in this Christmas Ornament.  Every year, as a family, we head to a local Christmas tree farm, and there we will select and cut down our family Christmas Tree.  There is nothing like the smell of fresh cut pine in your home at Christmas!

The texture of this Christmas ornament reminds me of the freshly cut trunk of the Christmas tree.  My kids enjoy counting the rings on the freshly cut stump to try to determine the age of the tree.  The texture is also a reminder of logs on a cozy fire in the fireplace.  It brings up so many wonderful memories of celebrating Christmas in the countryside.

For this ornament I used a little bit of a light weight yarn.  In the ones shown I used the Truboo yarn by Lion Brand.  You will only need one colour – although you may wish to experiment with more!

I have also used a 4 mm crochet hook and added a few beads to the bottom of mine just before the tassel.

Feel free to check out the free video tutorial following the free pattern below.  There I will show you how I added my beads and tassel to the bottom.
