These Autumn Stroll Crochet Socks are made with easy crochet stitches! The open mesh pattern ensures that they have a stretchy and comfortable fit.

Crochet socks can be such a pleasure to wear! I love they homey cottage feel they give off and I have been enjoying wearing them over the last little while!

This is not my first pair of crochet socks.  You can also find the Cozy Cottage Socks Crochet Pattern and the Baby Crew Socks Crochet Pattern here on Rich Textures Crochet.  I have a couple other sock designs also in the works, so stay tuned!

The Design:

Although I have listed this pattern as an intermediate crochet pattern, this design used a variety of easy crochet stitches including chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet stitches.

The socks are worked from the cuff down to the toe and are worked as one piece.  The heel design is sometimes referred to as a “heel flap” design.  This is my preference when working socks as it creates a nicely defined heel that fit well.

As there are a few challenges in working the heel of the sock, be sure to check out the video tutorial below!

Toe Shaping:

Place the sock on a flat surface, placing it so that the sole of the foot is down.  Flatten and with your stitch markers, mark the two sides of the foot.  These markers will indicate where you will work your decreases.

Working continuous rounds, sc in each stitch until you reach your first stitch marker, sc2tog over the marked st and the next (replace your st maker now in this sc2tog), sc in each st to the next stitch marker and sc2tog.

Continue to repeat the above until you have 28, (32, 36) sts remaining and join with a sl st in the first st.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Turn the sock inside out and using the long tail, sew the tip of the toe closed.  Fasten off and weave in your ends.
