Add a little pop of colour to your crochet ribbing with this Three Colour Ribbing crochet stitch pattern that is reversible!
If you are someone who loves to add unique colour combinations to your stitch project, this stitch tutorial is for you! As crocheters, we use ribbing in our crochet projects in a variety of ways. The unique and wonderful thing about this ribbing is how the colour looks as though it has been worked over even more! I really love how it mixes it up.
One thing to note with this ribbing is that it is not as stretchy as some of the other ribbing techniques out there due to the way it is worked. It is also quite thick.

The Materials:
For this tutorial today, I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in three colours labelled A, B and C. You will alternate between these colours throughout the project. In the video tutorial below I will carry my yarn up the side so that I do not have to fasten off after each colour change. But depending on your project, you may have to fasten off and weave in the ends if there is no other way to hide them such as under an edging.
Along with my worsted weight yarn, I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook.

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in three colours labelled A, B and C.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
To begin, with colour A, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you may use any number of stitches for your foundation chain.
Row One:
Yo sl st in 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across, switching to colour B in the final st. With colour B, ch 1, turn.
Row Two:
Working in the 3rd loop all the way across, yo sl st in the 1st st and in each st across, switching to colour C in the final st. With colour C, ch 1, turn.
Row Three:
Working in the 3rd loop all the way across, yo sl st in the 1st st and in each st across, switching to colour A in the final st. With colour A, ch 1, turn.
Row Four:
Working in the 3rd loop all the way across, yo sl st in the 1st st and in each st across, switching to colour B in the final st. With colour B, ch 1, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern repeat rows two-four, fasten off, weave in your ends.
