Welcome to the second half of week two in the Wonderful Hats Crochet Along where we will learn to make the Jayden Scarf.
The Jayden Scarf is a fairly easy crochet scarf to make! It features only two crochet stitches including the reverse single crochet two together from the Jayden Beanie pattern and the ever popular basic stitch: the half double crochet.
The combination of these two stitches results in a fairly subtle texture. The thicker reverse stitches keep the scarf thick and cozy, while placing them between blocks of half double crochet stitches means that the scarf is not going to be as much of a yarn eater.

The Materials:
Our scarf pattern today is worked using a worsted/medium weight yarn. In the tutorials for all of the patterns I will be using the Wool Ease by Lion Brand. If you would like to substitute this yarn for another you may do so! If you are looking for a 100% acrylic option, I recommend the Lion Brand Heartland yarn. It is sold and comes in a variety of earth and jewel tones.
With the yarn, I am working with a 5 mm crochet hook. One of my favourite hooks is a Birchwood Crochet Hook by Rowan Yarns.

The crochet pattern will be written out in full below and it is free to follow on Rich Textures Crochet. If however you wish to add this pattern to your library and purchase an ad free PDF, you can do so from my Etsy and Ravelry Shops linked below:

The Jayden scarf pattern does not say in your instructions or on the video to use the back loop only, however that is what I see you doing on the video. Is this what should be done throughout the patter??
Thank you.
Hello Pamela, in the video tutorial I am also working under both loops 🙂
