The Ice Beanie is a textured beanie that can be worked in many different colour combinations.  It is perfect for any gender!

I enjoy working the front and back post double crochet stitch.  When worked, and the stitches are stacked on top of one another, it creates a neat ribbed fabric that is dense but has some stretch to it.  It makes for a very cozy beanie! The challenge with it is that the fabric can become quite thick, but when worked in a thinner yarn, the fabric is squishy and very comfortable to wear!

Two Unisex crochet beanies worked in blue, green and grey yarn

This crochet beanie works for any gender.  It is also easy to customize and I will give you the multiples for your starting chain down below.  The beanie is worked from the bottom up.  If you would like to change its size you will simply work to the desired height before working the decrease rounds.  I worked the Ice Beanie so that it did not have a foldable brim, but feel free to add a few inches in length if you would like it more slouchy or to have the room to fold.  Enjoy!

Materials:

For this beanie crochet pattern I am using a light DK weight yarn called Felted Tweed by Rowan.  It is a beautiful wool and alpaca blend yarn.  I will be using two different colours and you will need one ball in each.

You will also need a 4 mm (G/6) crochet hook.  In the video tutorial below your will see me using a Birchwood Crochet Hook also by Rowan Yarn.
