The Horizons Scarf crochet pattern is a very easy scarf to work.  It is a simple one row repeat. The beauty of the design is in the texture and seemingly random stripes!

Shortly after I finished making my sample scarf, I was pondering over a name when one of my children came in a suggested that it reminded them of the horizon, where the sky meets the sea.  And I fell in love with that idea.  Growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada, I saw my fair share of sunsets and sunrises over The Atlantic Ocean.  My child was right, with the pinks, oranges and blues, the scarf did remind me of the horizon!

A crochet scarf with a chevron design worked in blue, white, pink and orange stripes

The Horizons Scarf is worked in rows side to side.  So you will work from end to end.  The beauty of this is that you can make your scarf as long as needed.  The stitch pattern used is a textured chevron pattern which is a lovely one row repeat.

I have worked the scarf using four different colours of a DK weight yarn called Summerlite by Rowan Yarns.  They sent me some samples of it not too long ago and I am happy to be using those samples today! It is definitely a yarn that I will want to do more with.  The yarn is 100% cotton and beautifully soft.  It comes in a wide variety of colours, four of which I have used here.

A stripped chevron crochet scarf

The stripe design itself was created using a random stripes generator.  These are so much fun to play with, and there are many option online, when you are looking to add striking colour and design to a pattern.  I have included the row counts for my random stripes below in the written pattern, but feel free to create your own random design as well! If you do work the scarf, I would love to see it so be sure to tag @RichTexturesCrochet on social media.
