The Design:
The Holiday Christmas Ornament is an easy pattern to work. The crochet portion is worked in rounds and once your crochet piece is complete, you slip it over an DIY plastic Christmas ornament with an 8 inch circumference.
The DIY Ornament underneath gives the ornament a lasting shape.
The pattern itself is a simple crochet v-stitch. You will work 10 rounds before fastening off and weaving in your ends.

Materials:
For this crochet Christmas ornament, along with the 8 inch DIY plastic ornament which I purchased from my local craft store, you will need a small amount of a light weight yarn.
For my ornaments I used the Shawl in a Ball by Lion Brand Yarn. This yarn is classified as a medium worsted weight, but I find it on the lighter side. So if you would like to substitute for a different yarn, you will want to find a light (#3) yarn.
You will also need a 4 mm crochet hook. I am using a wooden Streamline crochet hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet.
