Harmony Scarf Crochet Pattern

The Harmony Scarf crochet pattern is a beautiful design that was created with one skein of a hand dyed yarn in mind!

That being said, if you have another fingering weight yarn on hand that you absolutely love, don’t hesitate to use it!

One of my favourite “local” yarn shops is a fibre mill and shop called Fleece & Harmony in Prince Edward Island, Canada. I have worked several other crochet patterns in their yarn including the Selkirk Shawl, the Braided Cable Ear Warmer, the Beach Point Beanie and my favourite Happy Socks. I love their story, and their yarn! Often the items I make with it remains in my own wardrobe as I fall in love with them!

Not too long ago I discovered that I had a couple skeins of their locally sourced sock yarn remaining in my stash! I set out to design a one skein crochet pattern that I could showcase this beautiful yarn in and came up with the Harmony Scarf crochet pattern.

The Harmony scarf is a pattern that uses basic crochet stitches and is a long obtuse triangle shape.

I love triangle shawls and scarves as they are versatile and beautiful! This particular triangle design is long and narrow making it fun to style and wear. In fact, even before I sat down to film the video tutorial (below) for this scarf I was already wearing it out and about. It has since become my favourite winter accessory to wear!

How to make the Harmony Scarf crochet pattern:

As mentioned above this scarf is worked in basic crochet stitches including double crochet, double crochet two together and chain stitches.

The scarf is worked side to side from one of the end points to the other. At its widest point in the middle, it measures approximately 8 inches.

The written instructions for this design are lengthy (175 rows)! But, that being said, once you get the hang of the pattern and how often the increases are worked, you will find that it comes almost naturally.

Once the scarf was complete, I added a couple of thick tassels to the ends. They are, however, optional.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Gauge:  24 stitches x 10 rows of dc = 4 inches

Finished Size: 8 x 78 at widest points, excluding tassels

Yarn: Point Prim Sock Yarn by Fleece & Harmony® (400 yds; 104g; 80% wool, 20% Canadian Mohair).  You will need 1 skein.

Hook: Size E/4 (3.5 mm) hook.
