The Black Cherry beanie is the second pattern in the Black Cherry set! Like the matching ear warmer, this pattern features lots of texture.

Welcome to Week Two, Day Two of the Midwinter Crochet Along! I hope you have enjoyed the patterns so far! We have reached the half way point with only four patterns remaining after this one.  I have been enjoying seeing your posts of your finished ear warmers, hats and cowls on Facebook and Instagram.

A grey and red crochet beanie featuring bobble stitches

The Construction:

This easy crochet beanie is worked from the bottom up.  For the brim, instead of working a traditional ribbing, I have worked some rounds of half double crochet in the third loop.  If you are not sure where the third loop is, you can learn all about it in the video tutorial below.

Along with the rounds of half double crochet stitches, you will notice some beautiful and big bobble stitches.  I love working the bobble stitch and they create such a fun pop of texture in this pattern.

The Materials:

For this crochet beanie pattern I will be using approximately 210 yard of the Scarfie Yarn by Lion Brand.  It is shown above in the colour Oxford/Claret.  I will also be using a 6.5 mm crochet hook.
