The Amethyst Shawl crochet pattern is a lacy crochet rectangular shawl that is fairly easy to work and gorgeous when worked in a self stripping yarn!

Shawls are one of those timeless, classic crochet pieces. They have been worn throughout the ages and are still worn and gifted by many! Our shawl today would make a lovely wrap for that special person – weather as a prayer shawl, a reading shawl, or a shawl for a special occasion.

The crochet rectangular Amethyst shawl

The tan selected for my sample Amethyst Shawl is a sport weight yarn that is left stripping with gradual colour changes. The cakes are hand made by Panda Yarns in Canada. She has so many different colours to choose from and will even make custom colour cakes! Definitely check Panda Yarns out. I have used these cakes before in my shawls including the Oceans Shawl, Mountains Shawl and Meadows Shawl.

I mentioned earlier that this shawl is a rectangular shaped shawl. It is worked from the top down and along the long edge. I will give you the stitch multiples down below should you wish to change the length of your shawl.
