Catherine Wheel Crochet Bookmark

I love making crochet bookmarks! They use up scrap yarn, are quick, pretty and make great little gifts for those we love!

If you’ve been following me for a bit now, you will be aware of my love of reading! I aim to read a novel a month.  I would live to read more, but I’ve heard it’s also good to have a social life and interact with live people 😉

Crochet Bookmarks:

crochet bookmark

Along with my reading I love to have a little crochet along side.  Over the years I’ve designed several bookmark patterns.  The Chevron Bookmark – A Free Crochet Pattern continues to be a favourite for many, but also the Making Waves Bookmark – Free Crochet Pattern and the Spiked Granny Bookmark | Free Crochet Pattern are a couple of my favourites too!

The Catherine Wheel:

This crochet bookmark features a popular crochet stitch called the Catherine wheel.

This post contains affiliate links.  This means that when you make a purchase through the link I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.  Thank you so much for supporting Rich Textures Crochet!

The stitch works up quickly and creates a unique, fun design.  I’ve embellished the crochet bookmark with a complementary wheel at the end.  It is worked as part of the edging so the bookmark is worked all as one piece.

Paton’s Grace by Yarnspirations:

The yarn I’ve used in this crochet bookmark, and the others I’ve designed, is called Paton’s Grace by Yarnspirations.  It is a 100% mercerized cotton.  It is a lightweight yarn that comes in a variety of colours.  You can learn more about it here: Paton’s Grace – Yarnspirations.com

Braver than you Know:

Curious about the book in the photo?

The book, “Braver Than you Know,” was written by a long time family friend.  Katie is a new Canadian author for whom I had the pleasure of reading a review copy.  The book is set in the Canadian Prairies and tells the story of Kimberly Colter who struggles to continue on as a wildlife photographer after an encounter with a dangerous animal.

It is a wonderful book, beautifully written in its descriptions of landscape and human feeling.    It’s a story of bravery and love! I will leave the amazon link for you here: Braver than you Know by Katie Ardea (This is not an affiliate link – just a recommended one!).
