Chevron Bookmark – A Free Crochet Pattern

I love to read, especially during the summer months.  If you do too, or are looking for a simple, quick, perfect gift for the book lover, look no further!

While I do have a wide selection of books on my Kobo, I still love to hold and read from a physical book – especially while I’m on holidays.  My favourite place to shop is Chapters Indigo (ok, after the yarn shop).  There is something relaxing, exciting for me even, curling up in our big arm chair after the kids have gone to bed and pulling out a good novel.

All that being said, I can never find a bookmark! I don’t always like to “dog ear” my corners so it wouldn’t be uncommon to find torn strips of paper or old receipts tucked between the pages of my latest read.  But as a crocheter, I knew I could remedy it.

I have designed a couple of bookmarks to be revealed over the next couple of months, this being the first, in conjunction with a Crochet Book Club event I am hosting in the Rich Textures Crochet Community group on Facebook.  You will find the group through my Facebook Page here: http://www.facebook.com/richtextures

This chevron book mark was made using a light weight yarn from my yarn stash.  It uses very little yarn and works up quickly making it a great pattern for yourself, or a book loving friend.

The pattern will be written out in full below, including a complete video tutorial.  If you would like to add this pattern to your library, you will find it in my Etsy and Ravelry shops:
