Introducing the Summer Breeze Shawl crochet pattern for the first time, free on Rich Textures Crochet. You will want to add this light a breezy shawl to your wardrobe!
Several years ago, when I first started designing crochet patterns, I solely listed them in my Etsy and Ravelry shops. Some of the crochet patterns never made the transition to free here on my website, so I am excited to start updating them and uploading them for free here now.
The Summer Breeze Shawl was originally created using a yarn that has since been discontinued so I wanted to update the pattern using a yarn that is more readily available.
I have been loving the Mandala Bonus Bundles by Lion Brand lately (I have recently published several scarves in this yarn including the Low Tide Scarf and the Happy Trails Scarf) and decided to give it a try in this shawl.

While it doesn’t quite drape the same as it did in the original yarn, it still turned out beautifully and there are many gorgeous colour ways to choose from. You will only need one of the bonus bundles to complete the shawl!
The Summer Breeze Shawl is a rectangular shawl that simply worked lengthwise and from the top to the bottom (The top of the shawl, that sits at your shoulders is the straight edge created with the foundation chain). To three sides of the shawl (including the top and two shorter ends) I have added a simple row of reverse single crochet stitches to add a little bit of texture and a more finished look. I hope you enjoy it!

The Materials:
For this crochet shawl I used almost an entire ball of the Mandala Bonus Bundle Cake by Lion Brand yarn. It is a light weight yarn with about 1100 yards per cake. I also used a 5 mm crochet hook and will be working with a Birchwood Crochet Hook by Rowan.
