I have a wonderful, textured crochet stitch pattern for you today called the Regal Stitch.
I love the texture in the Regal Stitch crochet pattern. It features a combination of cluster and front post stitches. The front post stitches are worked in an unusual way, however, as they are worked just under the top loops of the stitches below. The result is a ridge of texture that is not quite as pronounced as you would get from working a stitch around the full post of the stitch below. When you see it worked in the free video tutorial below I thin you will like it!

This stitch pattern would make an excellent choice for your heavier weight projects. But I also wouldn’t hesitate to try it in a finer yarn if needed a little texture in a lighter weight project as well. All the texture in the Regal Stitch crochet pattern is to the front side.
The Materials:
For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. It is a worsted-weight yarn. You could also work this pattern in two or more colours. I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook. In the video tutorial below you will see me working with a Birchwood Crochet Hook by Rowan. However, you may use any hook and yarn combination you choose.
Thank you so much for stopping by! If you enjoy the tutorial below, be sure to also check out some of the many other crochet stitch tutorials on my site and pin this for later! You may wish to start with the beautiful Heather Stitch Crochet Pattern.

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a solid colour.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
To begin make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need an even number of stitches for your foundation chain.
For example, ch 30.
Row One:
Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each st across. Ch 3 (counts as a dc here and throughout), turn.
Row Two:
Dc in the next st and in each st across. Ch 3, turn.
Row Three:
*FpCL in the next st, dc in the next st; Rpt from * across, dc in the top of the final st (turning ch). Ch 1, turn.
Row Four:
Sc in the top of the 1st st, *fpsc (beginning in the same st as sc *see note under “stitches and abbreviations”) in the next st and in each st across until 1 st remains, sc in the final st. Ch 1, turn.
Row Five:
Sc in the 1st st and in each st across. Ch 3, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern, simply repeat rows 2-5. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
