The Rainforest Blanket Crochet Pattern features some beautiful and reversible texture!
One of the things I love as the cold weather sets in is the ability to cosy up under a thick blanket and either crochet or read.
I love working crochet blankets in super bulky weight yarn. They have a nice weight to them, show off amazing texture and are warm and cosy.
Some of my favourite super bulky weight blankets include the Midwinter Blanket, the Cottage Throw and most recently the Rice Pudding Blanket. The other benefit to working blankets in super bulky weight yarn is that they can be worked up fairly quickly as far as blankets go.

The Rainforest Blanket is named after the colour way of the cake that I used. The blanket is shown here worked in Caron Tea Cakes which are a self striping cake that are a wool and acrylic blend. If you are looking for a substitute (as the Caron Tea Cakes are a seasonal item and only available at Michaels Stores), you may wish to try the Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn by Lion Brand.
The stitch pattern used in the Rainforest Blanket is called a Raised Ridge stitch. This is the same stitch used in the Traveller Scarf. It’s fairly easy to work with a great reversible texture.
