I have a confession to make! When I come across a new yarn with great or interesting texture, I just have to try it! That was what launched the design of this Puff Stitch Slouch Hat!
If you have only two of the Caron Latte Cakes by Yarnspirations, you will have enough to complete this complete set of winter wear!
Today, in this post you will find the free crochet pattern for the Puff Stitch Slouch hat featuring the Caron Latte Cakes. Stay tuned, though, over the next couple of weeks I will also provide you with free patterns for a coordinating button up cowl and mittens set.

When you ask people about the Caron Latte Cakes, usually the first thing they say is that they are so soft! So you can imagine how soft this set is. The yarn IS super soft, but also has great weight and drape because of it’s nylon/acrylic composition.
As you will have guessed from the title of this slouch hat pattern, the stitch that it features is the puff stitch. The puff stitch is one of my favourite stitches. It has a rich, smooth texture that is perfect for a variety of projects.
At the end of the written pattern below you will find a free video tutorial, and while you are checking it out, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/RichTexturesCrochet/) which I like to update weekly.

Fasten of leaving a long tail. Using the long tail remaining, sew top of hat closed by weaving yarn in and out of the top round of stitches. Pull yarn tight to close the top, fasten off and weave in ends.
I am working on the puff stitch slouch hat. I am using a “J” 5.75 mm hook. My hat is HUGE! Any hinyTs on what I’ve done wrong? I’ll be waiting to hear from you as I pull it apart ?
