I have another one row repeat crochet stitch pattern for you this week in this Linked Shells crochet stitch!
I love the easy pace of a one row repeat in crochet patterns. They allow you to sit with your own thoughts or enjoy other activities while crocheting.
Our Linked Shell Stitch crochet pattern is a collection of shell stitches that lay on the diagonal. The shells are worked using basic chain stitches, single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches. The final fabric that they create is reversible. And the design is not too heavy making it a beautiful stitch option for a variety of projects.

The Materials:
For this tutorial today, I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. It is a medium/worsted weight yarn that is a wool blend. Along with my worsted weight yarn, I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook.

Barn Quilt Blankets is a collection of five blanket crochet patterns that feature a beautiful geometric designs. The book is now available in both paperback and ebook formats on Amazon! You can read about it here: BARN QUILT BLANKETS

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch, you will need a multiple of four (4) stitches for your foundation chain.
For example, ch 32.
Row One:
Sc in the 4th ch from your hook, sk the next 3 sts, *[2 dc, ch 2, sc] in the next st, sk the next 3 sts; Rpt from * across ending with 3 dc in the final st. Ch 4, turn.
Row Two:
Sc in the 1st st, *[2 dc, ch 2, sc] in the next ch-2 sp; Rpt from * across ending with 3 dc in the final turning ch-4 sp. Ch 4, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern, simply repeat row 2. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
