The Crisscross Market bag is a fun crochet bag to make! You will love how quickly it works up!

If you are joining as part of the Marvellous Market Bag Crochet Along, welcome! If this is your first time hearing of the Marvellous Market Bag Crochet Along, you can find all of the information for it here: The Marvellous Market Bag Crochet Along.

Construction:

This crochet market bag is made primarily of crossed treble crochet stitches. They can seem tricky at first to get the hang of making them, but once you do, the pattern works quickly.

This bag has lots of room in it and the crossed treble stitch means that it will have a bit of stretching room. It will be great for packing for the beach or park!

As was the case for the previous market bags in this crochet along, I have worked this bag using four colours but you may make it using as many or as few colours as you would like.

The Crisscross Market Bag

The Materials:

This crochet market bag is worked in a 100% cotton. I find cotton best for market bags as it holds its shape and has less stretch than an acrylic.

For this market bag I will be using the Pima Cotton by Lion Brand yarn. It is a super soft 100% worsted/medium weight cotton. Any worsted weight cotton will do though! In total you will need about 400 yards – the exact amounts of each colour can be found below.

I will also be using a 5 mm crochet hook. In the video tutorial below I will be using my favourite wooden streamline hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet.
