Good day! I have a simple, but beautiful crochet scarf for you today called the Blue Lagoon Scarf crochet pattern!
The Blue Lagoon Scarf crochet pattern is an easy design and the pattern is only a one row repeat. You will work it along the short end so there is no need for a long foundation chain.
The stitch featured in the scarf is called the “Coral Stitch.” It’s a unique stitch that is worked by working through the front vertical bar of the post of the previous stitch. If you are new to this technique, you will find the free video tutorial at the end helpful!

I love the knit look in this scarf. It features a classic look that would look wonderful in a solid colour yarn as well. In my sample I have used the Mandala yarn by Lion Brand. It is a light weight acrylic yarn that is self stripping featuring large chunks of colour. Its seamless colour changes and softness make for cozy scarves!

Free Crochet Pattern:
Ch 40
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (39 sts)
Row 2: Sc2tog in 1st 2 sts, *CL (See “Stitches and Abbreviations” above); Rpt from * across, hdc in final st (which is the same st as your last CL). Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 onward: Repeat row 2 until your scarf measures approximately 89 inches or the desired length.
Fasten off, weave in your ends.
For the Fringe: For the fringes on my scarves I enjoy working a row of knotted tassels. To do so, cut 3-5 lengths of yarn that are 8-10 inches long. Pull group of yarn lengths through one of the stitches at the end of your scarf and fold so the two ends meet. Work a knot, making sure to slide the knot up to the scarf end as you tighten it. I like to add tassels in every second stitch along the scarf ends. Once you have added knotted tassels all along the short edge, trim ends so that they are all the same length.
