Learn how to crochet this beautiful Sunflower Bookmark crochet pattern that could also be used as an appliqué to embellish almost any project.

I love sunflowers and enjoy growing them in at least one of my gardens every year. They are tall, and bright. They often bloom in the late summer and autumn when there isn’t a lot of other colour present in gardens. Because of this they always bring a smile to my face!

Not too long ago I published a pair of Sunflower Crochet Earrings, this time I wanted to add the sunflower motif to my reading as I carry a book with me almost every where I go.

Our Sunflower Bookmark crochet pattern today is a simple design. You will work the flower head using small amounts of scrap cotton yarn. The head is then attached to a stem and leaves. I have designed the flower as a bookmark with a long stem, but the project would be suitable as an appliqué that could be added to a bag, coat, pair of jeans, or any other project!

Little crochet flowers make for very pretty crochet bookmarks. If you are looking for another option, you may also wish to check out the Garden Fence Bookmark crochet pattern.

The Materials:

I enjoy working my bookmarks in a 100% cotton yarn.  I am using a light weight yarn by Yarnspirations called Patons Grace.  You can learn more about it here: You can learn more about it here: Paton’s Grace – Yarnspirations.com. For this project you will also need a 3.5 mm (E/4) crochet hook.
