The Macy Dishcloth crochet pattern features a gorgeous, solid texture on both sides that is both pretty and practical.

If you have been around Rich Textures Crochet for a bit you will know that I love crocheting washcloths and dishcloths. They are a great small project that you can work in between larger projects or alongside larger projects if you enjoy working multiple patterns at once.

You can never have enough dishcloths! They make great gifts, sell well at craft sales and markets, and are helpful around your own home.

The Macy Dishcloth pattern is created by working rows of single crochet stitches in the front loop only and then by working small cluster stitches in behind. As a result the crochet dishcloth is fairly thick with a great texture. It’s holds up well to multiple uses.

Materials for this Tutorial:

I always use a cotton yarn for my washcloths and dishcloths. Cotton yarn holds up well to multiple washes, is resistant to heat, and is absorbent.

For this tutorial today I will be using a small amount of cotton yarn in one colour. This yarn is a worsted weight yarn 100% cotton yarn called Pima Cotton by Lion Brand Yarn. I will also be using a 5 mm crochet hook. The hook you will see me using in the video tutorial below is a favourite Clover Soft Touch Hook.
