Spring Cleaning Day One! The Scrubby Cloth – A Free Crochet Pattern

Hi, and welcome to the Rich Textures Crochet Spring Cleaning Crochet Pattern Blitz! Seven free crochet patterns in seven days for washcloths, scrubbies and a swiffer cover 🙂

Today I’d like to introduce you to the Scrubby Cloth!

I love simple washcloths. Sometimes at home while I’m doing the dishes I find myself grumbling about the conditions of my washcloths. And then, after I grumble for a bit (and usually at my husband’s prodding) I remember I can make them! (And usually have a stash in my project totes!).

In my house, with three kids and a puppy I can never have enough washcloths and scrubbies. I especially love ones that are a little more on the tougher side.

Having ones that I can whip up quickly is important. Not only are they great for around my own home, but also great when I need to tuck something a little extra into a card or a gift to a friend. They are also great contenders at craft sales!

The pattern featured today is a simple Scrubby Cloth, one that definitely works up quickly and has a lot of strength.

For this Cloth I have combined Redheart’s Scrubby yarn with some Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (but any worsted weight crochet cotton will do!). Because you’ll only need about 33 yards of each, this is a great scrap user. Mix and match the colours to match your own personal style.

In this pattern you will work holding the Scrubby yarn and cotton together which makes working with the more challenging Scrubby yarn so much easier!

The patterns over the next week will all be available to save or download (for $2.50 CAD) from my Etsy and Ravelry Shops. And be sure to check out the YouTube tutorial (linked following the pattern)!
