I love bulky weight yarn crochet blankets! The Log Cabin Throw is a super cozy blanket that, because it is worked in a super bulky weight yarn, is going to work up quickly.

Blankets made from a super bulky weight yarn are warm, show off some great texture and can become a statement piece for any room.  I have worked several super bulky weight blankets including the Winter Bliss Throw Crochet Pattern and the Midwinter Blanket – Free Crochet Pattern.  They are always a favourite!

A Crochet blanket made with a super bulky weight yarn

The blanket shown in the photo above was worked in Lion Brand’s Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn.  I love using their bonus bundles for blankets such as this one.  The blanket is worked in motifs that are then crocheted together before a simple edging is added at the end.  The Spiral design in the motifs are eye catching and create a nice contrast to the lines in the seams.  You can work the blanket as a solid colour as I have, or don’t be afraid to switch them up using yarn scraps that you may already have at home.

I have paired the yarn with a 10mm crochet hook.  In the video tutorial below you will see me using a Wooden Streamline Hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet.
