I love the slanted rows in this fun Connected Spiral crochet stitch pattern! It’s a great reversible stitch pattern with a unique texture.
Cluster stitches can be very pretty, especially the unique ones like the one found in this Connected Spiral Stitch.
The cluster stitches in the pattern below are worked almost in two parts. The first is worked around the post of the previous stitch, and the second part is like a partial double crochet stitch worked into the next stitch to anchor it.
When worked back and forth in rows such as we will below, the stitch pattern is the same on both sides and reversible.

The Materials:
For this tutorial today, I will be using a small amount of Heatherly by KnitPicks and WeCrochet in a single colour. You are also able to work this stitch in a single colour or more. The Heatherly yarn is a medium/worsted weight yarn that is a wool blend. Along with my worsted weight yarn, I will also be working with a 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook.

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a single colour.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms.
To begin, make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch pattern, you will need a multiple of three chains, plus five for your foundation chain.
Your chain three at the beginning of a row counts as a double crochet stitch.
For example, ch 29.
Row One:
Dc into the 6th ch from your hook, *ch 3, CL around the post of the previous st; rpt from * across, for your final cluster you will only skip 1 ch before working the final part of your cluster in the final chain. Ch 3, turn.
Row Two:
Dc into the next ch-3 sp, work CL sts all the way across always working in the ch-3 sps, the final CL is finished in the top of the turning ch-3. Ch 3, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern simply repeat row 2. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
