Thermal Stitch Crochet Scrubby

I love a good crochet scrubby! This crochet scrubby pattern is so easy you’ll want to make it again and again!

If you have been following me over on my youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/RichTexturesCrochet/), then you will know that we have spent the last couple of weeks learning how to crochet the thermal stitch.  So this week I wanted to bring you a quick project so that you can put this stitch into practice.

The Construction:

Similar to my Spring Cleaning Day One! The Scrubby Cloth – A Free Crochet Pattern, this crochet scrubby pattern is simple in its construction.  It’s simply a swatch of single crochet thermal stitch worked holding two strands of yarn together.

Red Heart Scrubby and Crochet Cotton:

Using the thermal stitch to work the pattern means the scrubby works up extra thick.  For this crochet scrubby you will work the thermal stitch holding one stand of the Red Heart Scrubby Yarn alongside a strand of your favourite worsted weight crochet cotton.  The Scrubby yarn can be a challenge on its own to work with.  But when you pair it up with a cotton, it makes it much easier to work with and to see your stitches.

They are very quick to work up! And feel free to mix and match your colours! I’ve used a coloured Scrubby yarn alongside an off white yarn in order to help you see the stitches, but I know there are many who would prefer not to use a white cotton in their scrubbies, so don’t be afraid to switch up your colours.

  1. Sarah:
I just watched the “Embossed Pocket Stitch” tutorial.
I think it would be lovely, softer yarn of course, as the collar, cuffs, front edging on each side, and bottom edging on a baby’s sweater, little dress, n if pants with sweater, then add equal rows to hemline (so to speak)
Also, maybe, a dainty evening bag or add a short to medium length strap of 2 crocheted pocket stitch. Except, have both of the rows, (pocket stitches) facing away from each other. AE: )(, with pockets facing outward.
    Whatcha think?!?
