There is something about clover that just speaks to me – summer! Clover was the inspiration behind this light weight summer throw!

As a child I remember getting excited about finding purple clover in our backyard growing up.  Not only did they make a great and colourful addition to my dandelion bouquets, but they also carry a sweet nectar!

I would sit and carefully pluck the flower petals and then suck the nectar out from their centers.  My own kids now carry on this special tradition.  It’s just one of those sweet things of summer.

When I first came across this stitch combination, the clover flower was the first thing that came to mind! And paired up with this beautiful Touch of Alpaca Yarn by Lion Brand, it was perfect!

The result is a lacy, light weigh throw with great drape and perfect for those summer breezy evenings!

I can’t wait to curl up in the evenings out on my back deck, with my cup of tea, a good book or new crochet project, under this throw.  I just love it.

This would make a lovely shawl – what would be the multiples to change the size?

  2. Susan M Wolcott says:

it won’t let me print the complete pattern. it blocks row part of row 2,3, & part of 4

  3. Alyssa L Haenel says:

I’m currently stuck 8n row 4. I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong but where it says to “*ch 3, sk tr and ch-2 sp, sc in the next st, ch 3, sk ch-2 sp and 1 tr, sc in next st; rpt from ” the second time we chain 3, sk ch-2 and 1 tr , mine is working on top of a 4 tr , therefore there is no ch-2 or one single tr . I would be starting that stitch in the second tr of a 4 tr stitch.. I hope this makes sense to someone and they can help.
