Crochet hat patterns are a favourite project for many to make, especially as we head into the winter months!
So, if you are starting to plan the crochet hat patterns that you are going to make this season, why not join a fun crochet along?
The Wonderful Hats Crochet Along will begin on August 5th, 2020!
Starting on August 5th we will crochet a new hat pattern each week for five weeks. These are all new designs!
5 New Crochet Hat Designs!
Back at the beginning of the summer I started designing some new crochet hats using some of my favourite crochet stitches. For this crochet along I have settled on five designs, each featuring a particular stitch or technique.
Each hat pattern will be revealed on Wednesday of each week and will progressively become more difficult. So we will start with the easier designs and work our way to the more challenging ones!
The stitches featured will include a primrose stitch, waffle stitch, bean stitch and then some cables! the cable hats in weeks four and five, I’m going to confess, are my favourite! It was my first time trying cables and I had so much fun, but I won’t say anymore! I don’t want to get too far ahead 🙂
If you would like to check out some of the other crochet hat patterns I’ve designed, I would start with these: Winter Chill Beanie | Free Crochet Pattern and the Spiked Granny Stitch Slouch Hat|Free Crochet Pattern

For my hats I have used the Patons Canadiana Yarn by Yarnspirations. It is a soft, 100% acrylic yarn. It is a worsted (#4) weight yarn and each skein measures approximately 205 yards. You may substitute this yarn for one of your choice and play with the colours!
For the first four hats, I only needed about 200 yarns (one skein!) per hat. For the final hat I used about 300 yards of the Patons Canadiana.
I crocheted each hat in a solid colour and purchases faux fur pompoms from Wool Interrupted (https://woolinterrupted.com/product-category/poms/) to adorn the top. You, of course, may switch up the colours, use a faux fur pom as I did, or may your own, or go pom-less! Any option will look great!
For this pattern you will also need a 5mm crochet hook. I will be using a wooden streamline hook in Ebony by Furls Crochet. You will also need some scissors and yarn needle for weaving in your ends, and pompoms for the top if you choose.
I’m so excited!!
Thank you so much for joining me on this crochet journey! I look forward to seeing all of your progress and finished products. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Wonderful Hats Crochet Along
Skill Level: Hats range from Easy – Advanced. Yes, there are a variety of stitches, but there will be lots of help along the way!
Gauge: Varies depending on the hat!! I will update with each post.
Finished Size: Each hat is designed to fit an adult head with a 20-21 inch circumference. There is quite a bit of stretch in the band though!
Yarn:
Patons Canadiana by Yarnspirations (%100 acrylic; 141 g / 5 oz, 228 meters / 250 yards; Worsted Weight)
You will need one (1) ball for each of the first four (4) hats, and 1.5 balls for the final hat. I used the colours: Grape Jelly, Cherished Pink, Teal Heather, Fool’s Gold, and Oatmeal in these hats shown.
Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn Needle, scissors, pompoms if desired.
I can’t wait to see all your hats! See you on August 5th when I reveal the first pattern!

I am new to crochet, your tutorials on these hats are very easy to follow. Is there a place where you have a different sizing chart? Thanks
Which hat is the yellow one? I’ve looked at all of the ones listed in this CAL and can’t figure it out.
