I am a member of a number of crochet groups on Facebook.  About a month ago a post was made about a Braided Slouchy Hat and I will confess I immediately fell in love!

The slouch hat is relatively new to me and I will confess that before this year I had never worn, let alone owned one.  But this one by Jen Causley caught my attention.

Isn’t it gorgeous?? After purchasing the pattern I immediately set to work.  The pattern was well written with photos to help along the way.  I love the simplicity of the stitches, but together they form a great textured hat.  I tried it in a few different yarns (Shown above is done in a Caron Cake), and will definitely be making a few for the upcoming craft and vendor sale I will be participating in.

Now I am in love with slouch hats! And especially as a girl with extra thick curly-ish at times hair, the slouch is a great alternative to the beanie!

Jen is from Ontario, Canada and very active on her Facebook page, Cozy Crochet Creations by Jen.  Take a look at her Ravelry shop – there are lots of other great patterns for cowls and messy bun hats.  One of my favorites is her Plaid Love Scoodie – so cute!

So check her out, definitely a Canadian designer to follow!
